How to get there
It is necessary to allocate a whole day to the excursion due to the amount of time it takes to get there. To begin your journey to Balos Lagoon beach, you must first get to Kissamos port via car or taxi. Once at the port you will board a ferry that will take you to the beach. The ferry will make stops along the way which is why it is important to give yourself an entire day. It is also possible to drive to the beach, however, the road is dirt and has large rocks. The road takes you to the top of a mountain which you will need to climb down to access the beach. It is important to remember that you will have to climb back up the mountain at the end of the adventure and the climb up is more difficult than the climb down.
